Dryland is a crisp, dry beer brewed with 56% unmalted Bajra (pearl millet) sourced from small-scale farmers in drought-hit regions of Maharashtra. This Brut-style pale ale is Great State Ale Works tribute to the region’s drylands and a humble effort to shine light on the resilience of this hardy crop and the farmers who till these lands.
The design draws inspiration from the dry, scorched soil seen in these parts. The label is non-conformist, brutally direct and devoid of colour, featuring a raw edge die-cut label that takes “rough around the edges” quite literally.
Traversing through this arid landscape is a trail of photorealistic ants with a special finish to enhance their shiny texture. The mighty ants serve as a metaphor to the resilience of the Bajra millet that forms the backbone of this beer.
